THEATRE FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES SYMPOSIUM:

January 9-11, 2015

$85 Student/Retired/$125 Member/$205 Non-Member (Early Bird Rate)
$95 Student/Retired/$135 Member/$215 Non-Member

Join The New Victory Theater and AATE for a 3-day hands-on symposium that will explore the creation of new theater for kids and family audiences. Through work-in-progress performances, hands-on workshops, panel discussions and breakout dialogues, participants will investigate new work development in TYA (Theater for Young Audiences) from the perspective of the artist, the educator and the theatrical organization. Working with artists from the The New Victory LabWorks Program, an artist residency initiative that supports the development of original high-quality work for kids and families, participants will gain insight into how new theater for kids and families is currently developed and play a role in imagining the future of the field, as well as gain skills and ideas for fostering and supporting newwork in their own community.
