Gear up for National Theatre In Our Schools Month

Theatre In Our Schools (TIOS) is a month-long national event celebrating the power of theatre education to make children’s lives better. Supported by the American Alliance for Theatre Education (AATE), the celebration has grown substantially each March, reaching thousands of students, educators, actors, musicians, administrators, and supporters. This year's theme, Connecting Communities, Engaging Minds, plays out in performances, workshops, and other activities, from school rooms, to regional conferences, to the Broadway stage, to the nation's lawmakers – increasing public awareness of the broad social impacts of theatre in our schools and schools in our theaters. The American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE) celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2012. Our 25th National Conference will feature reflections on the past 25 years and look forward to the future of theatre and education. The AATE National Conference offers theatre artists, educators, and scholars from across the country the opportunity to connect with each other within their areas of expertise, as well as across disciplines.
